Live 30 Day Case Study: Creating and Promoting a Profitable Affiliate Niche Website

I’ll teach you how to build and promote a brand new, unregistered, unlisted niche website from scratch and get it earning commissions!

The challenge:
  • Pick a topic for a niche website
  • Find profitable keywords
  • Choose a domain name
  • Install WordPress and customize it with a header and essential plugins
  • Write content for the website that will attract Google and humans alike
  • Monetise the website as I go along, using only affiliate links (no Adsense)
  • Ethically promote the website without using spammy techniques or pay-per-click
  • Build a responsive email list
  • Start to get traffic – that’s nowhere near as easy nowadays as Google really doesn’t trust new domains. Whether or not I get any sales in the first 30 days is anyones guess but I’ll do my best!
  • Keep it cheap – as low as the cost of the domain and hosting if you want to
  • Make it scaleable – what to outsource if you want to and where to outsource

This brand new case study will let you watch over my shoulder as I create a brand new, affiliate based, niche website from scratch.

The niche will be weight loss – a lot more competitive than I normally choose but that’s part of the challenge.

You’ll be able to watch over my shoulder as I create and build the site.

Watch over my shoulder whilst I:

  • Create the actual content for the website – this is going to be a review style website with between 3 and 5 reviews per page
  • Create any supporting content – I don’t know precisely how much time I’ll have in the 30 days this project will last, so I may have to buy in some supporting content or I may choose to write it myself. You’ll get to see the inside story on how I do this and how it’s decided
  • Build a list of email addresses that I can promote top quality affiliate products to whilst keeping them “on side” and interested enough to keep opening the emails.
  • Start to create some backlinks and start to drive traffic to the site using only free or one-off payment methods. No pay per click ads! For me. this is probably the scariest part of the case study. Free traffic is hit and miss – if you go viral, it works nicely; if not then it’s as though nothing happened. With a brand new domain, this is especially difficult as Google don’t much like new domains in their search results.

You’ll get to see my website, the niche I’m in and the actual domain name.

Obviously that means the results are going to be slightly skewed – there will be more page views than you’d expect on a brand new domain and probably more list sign-ups.

But since you’re watching this case study unfold my guess is it won’t affect the affiliate sales – especially as you’ll know the precise affiliate deals I’m using so you could almost certainly buy they from your own link instead of through the one on the site.

That said, there will also be some Amazon affiliate links – the weight loss niche spends money and they’re happy to spend that on Amazon!

It’s unlikely you’ll skew the Google results as my guess is most people won’t search for the domain in Google, they’ll just click the link in the updates I send out.

Updates will be “as and when” over the 30 days – fast at the beginning when there’s a lot happening, slower as the 30 days nears to a close as it’s more of a waiting game.

This behind-the-scenes case study is great if you want to create a site of your own!

Follow along and copy my steps in your chosen niche.

I’ve already decided the niche – weight loss – so I’m not going to show you how to do niche research but there are plenty of products out there (including some of mine) that take you through that in depth.

But near enough everything else in the process will be there for you to see – warts and all.

And, yes, there will be warts.

Nothing ever goes 100% to plan (it would be boring if it did and everyone would automatically be making money) so if you expect everything to be totally perfect then this case study isn’t for you.

I’ve no idea whether or not the site will make any sales by the end of the 30 day period.

If I was using pay per click on Google or Facebook or wherever, there’s a fair chance it would.

But that isn’t the purpose of this case study.

I created a site a bit like the one that will be created in this project a couple of years ago,

It didn’t set the world alight at first.

But I’ve added content to it every now and then over the years and despite being almost neglected it earned a nice $266.40 commission in December 2014. That’s very nice as the site is in the personal development niche and December is a slow month.

You’ll find out how I got paid to add content to that site – it’s not something you can do immediately but as your site matures it’s a method that works.

There will also be a few experiments along the way.

I’m going to be using a pen name so I won’t be able to promote the site via Facebook (too many “don’ts” in their terms of service for my liking) but I will be setting up other accounts, creating videos to promote the site and doing a few other low cost things to push it in the right direction.

If you’d like to join me, just click the buy button and you’ll be added to an email list where I’ll keep you updated on progress.

You’ll also get the chance to upgrade the case study – I’ve got space for a limited number of people who feel they need more help than just watching someone else do something.

That’s not for everyone but you’ll get chance to join if you want to. No pressure to do that – you’ll know whether or not that’s something you need.

And I’d strongly suggest that you follow along and create your own affiliate niche website as we take this journey together.

I’m not going to be full time on this site – at most an hour a day, often less.

You could follow along and then repeat the process each month for the next year.

If you did that, you’d have 12 niche affiliate websites that were gathering views and sales.

Or you could create less sites but spend more time on each one.

That works nicely as well.

It’s your call.

You could even just watch me do everything but that’s not what I’d recommend as it wouldn’t earn you any cash!

But all this will only happen if you click the “buy” button now.

Some questions answered

How much money do I need?

You’ll need money for a domain name – around $10 for a .com or most other domain extensions,

You’ll need hosting – if you’ve already got a hosting account that offers unlimited domains then you’re already covered here, otherwise figure on maybe $10 per month for a decent host.

If you want to outsource, maybe $100 or so for other stuff but if you’re on a tight budget at the moment that’s by no means essential.

I’ll show you both ways in the case study.

How much time do I need?

That depends on whether you’re outsourcing some of the stuff or not. But figure an hour or so per day for the first week, less after that.

You can pace yourself, so if you only have time in the evenings or at weekends you’ll still manage to follow everything, just not as fast.

How much experience do I need?

Even a complete newbie can follow this.

I’ll explain what I’m doing and the thought process behind it. I’ll point you towards free tutorials for extra help if needed but near enough all the time you’ll be able to watch my shoulder as I show you what needs doing.

Is it guaranteed to work?

In a word, no.

The best research and the best laid plans don’t always work. That goes for big companies (New Coke anyone?) and smaller ones like you and me.

Anyone who claims they can guarantee that your new site will rank high and make money isn’t telling you the truth.

What I do know is that a lot of the time the answer is ‘yes’.

And with the kind of commissions we’re talking about in the sector I’m aiming at, we don’t need to make many sales for it to be a success.

So even if I only make one or two low ticket sales, chances are that my costs are covered.

Creating niche websites is a numbers game.

There are too many variables to rely on just one site.

But following the methods I’m going to teach you, you’ll increase your chances of success big time.

And because it’s a live case study, you’ll know that the results I’m achieving are working today. Not a re-hash of something that worked last week or last year which is so often the case with hyped launches.

The cost of this WSO is affordable as well.

No dimesale pricing.

Just a straightforward one time payment.

And even though this is a live case study, I’m happy to back your purchase with a 14 day no quibble money back guarantee. Which for a live case study is a great guarantee – you’ll be well into the course and will have had the chance to review all the material to that date.

So click the ‘Buy’ button and join me on this adventure!
