Affiliate Marketing Road Map

As with anything on the web (and elsewhere), it helps to know where you’re going.

Otherwise you’re just flailing around and getting nowhere.

It’s a bit like being a magician who can create money.

OK, it’s not really magic.

If it was, you wouldn’t be able to spend the money you earn.

And, OK, it will take some work.

Because instant success doesn’t happen very often in real life.

The time it takes will vary.

There are so many factors involved, I couldn’t even begin to guess.

Maybe a few months, maybe quite a few months, maybe as long as a year.

It depends on:

• Google’s mood – that’s variable at the best of times but is slightly better tempered if your site has been around more than a few days.
• The amount of time and effort you put in – that’s probably the biggest variable. If you play at it then you’ll get play results, If you commit and do some work on a regular basis, you’ll likely get much better results.
• The niche you choose – the narrower the niche (within reason) the quicker you’re likely to get results because you’re only competing with a relatively low number of other web pages. If you choose a broad niche, there’s next to no chance anything meaningful will happen.
• The products you promote. If you use Amazon you’ll get a single digit percentage of the sale price. If you promote a digital product from somewhere like Clickbank then you can get between 25% and 75% commission. And if you get it right that can be a recurring commission,
• How fast you start to build a list – because a responsive list is like having customers on tap.
