You can’t do everything alone.
Sometimes you need outside help.
And that includes finding an internet marketing coach to help get you further, faster, than you would on your own.
There are lots of different styles used by coaches:
Low end, d-i-y methods
These are usually pitched at somewhere between the price of a book and around $500 ( about £300 if you find a coach who prices in UK pounds rather than the ubiquitous US dollar).
At this price range, even if the sales page makes it seem as though you’ve just found an exception, the chances of you speaking to the expert whose name is on the sales page is low to non-existent.
The only exception I’ve found to that is someone who is no longer offering low end coaching – they offered a personal consultation but their coaching was a monthly subscription.
Most of the time you’ll be sent links to PDFs, audios and videos that then teach you the basics. Unless you’re a complete internet marketing novice, chances are you’ll know most if not all the material and you’ll have paid a fairly big chunk of cash for the privilege.
Sometimes you’ll get the services of a personal coach (but not normally at this level) but there’s a high chance they’ll be a trainee.
Mid level coaching
This is usually either a sizeable one-off fee – likely in the early 4 figure range – or a regular monthly charge.
Depending on the offer, you’ll get access to training in the form of PDFs, pre-recorded audios and videos and quite likely one or more webinars.
Sometimes there will be a coaching call element – either a group call that takes place on a regular phone line or via a webinar system or even Google Hangouts.
You are also likely to get access to a personal tutor who has been assigned to you.
Again, there’s an outside chance that you’ll get access to the actual main person featured on the sales page.
There’s a reason for this: if they’re as successful as they say they are, their time is more in demand than a few thousand dollars will buy.
That may be hard to believe when you’re just starting out in internet marketing but it’s true.
But if you can find a program at this level with access to the named person, it’s well worth getting. This can happen if they’re still on their way up the internet marketing ladder.
High end coaching
This is the “name your price” area.
Often high end coaching in any arena, including internet marketing, isn’t offered publicly very often, if at all.
That’s because the person involved is still selling their time.
Sometimes at this level the coaching takes the form of a regular mastermind group where you meet the “guru” with a number of other like minded people.
This is actually a good thing – well run mastermind groups are very powerful things. Napoleon Hill talked about them at some length in Think and Grow Rich.
In this format, you get access to the main person and also get input from the other people in the mastermind group.
There’s an accountability built in – you’re reporting back on your progress at each meeting – and there’s often a highly competitive element involved as well due to the nature of the other people in the group.
Whichever internet marketing coaching method you choose, I think it’s well worth doing.
Just make sure that you do your due diligence and also that you get on with the style of the person you’ll be following.
Sometimes I have spaces available for individual coaching. You can contact me here for more details.
