Getting More Sales with Flyers

Share

Flyers are cheap – maybe £100 for a batch, printed in full colour on both sides.

But cheap doesn’t mean nasty.

Used correctly, flyers are quick way to drum up more sales for your business.

If you’re a retailer, you can hand them out on the high street (remembering to check with your local council as to any licence you may need to do this).

To avoid people’s natural instinct to avoid this kind of thing, it would be worth making sure that whoever you use to hand out the flyers wears a t-shirt – either with your company’s name and logo on it or with whatever the offer is that you’re promoting. That way, pedestrians will have an idea and won’t just go into “no thanks” mode the second they’re offered a flyer.

If you’re business to business then you’ll need a bit more shoe leather. Walk round your local industrial estates.

Ideally do this when the businesses are open.

Walk through the door (!)

Introduce yourself and hand your flyer across.

This has a much higher impact – and therefore success rate – than merely putting a flyer through the letterbox when the business is closed. Although if that’s the only time you can get your flyers out there, it’s still better than not giving them out again.

Flyer design should be simple. Because a simple design is higher impact than a complicated one.

Make sure that the headline is clear and to the point.

Then talk about your services and/or special offers.

Then make sure that your phone number and web address are readable and that there’s a call to action such as “phone me on…”. Because people react better when it’s crystal clear what they have to do.
