People can be blinkered when choosing a niche.
They’ve bought internet marketing products so that’s what they decide to sell online
But there’s plenty of other choices!
One of my favourite niches is self help.
And that market is really big, so I don’t mind sharing some details – I think they make interesting reading.
Within self-help, hypnosis is a big market.
If you’ve been looking on Clickbank, you’ll probably have come across products by Steve G Jones. Under his own name on when he’s teamed up with people like Joe Vitale.
He also has his own site here.
It’s got lots of products available ranging from relatively cheap ($19.95) up to $189.95. Maybe higher, I’ve not searched the whole site – there are over 4,000 titles on it.
But between 23rd December 2013 and 1st January 2014, he’s dropped the price of every single download to just $1. Even the ones that are close to $200.
So – if you’re fast and if you’re in the self help market – I’d suggest you sign up to his affiliate program and get your share of the sales.
But that’s not the point of this post.
The point is that there are markets out there that dwarf internet marketing.
I can’t think of anyone in IM with anything close to 4,000 titles for sale.
And if you’re used to the hype-laden internet marketing joint venture pages, how’s this for the main announcement on the affiliate page:
No leaderboard that I could find, nothing much to draw attention.
But some big prizes – especially when the main product is $1 per item and half that is paid out to affiliates.
He’s planning on making lots of sales.
In fact, he’s got to make lots of sales otherwise it will cost him an arm and a leg,
So many internet marketers limit themselves by just staying with the internet marketing market.
That’s not to say you shouldn’t do that – it’s the market I’m in and there’s money in it – just that you should take a step back and consider whether it’s the best market to be in.
Or would you prefer to take a 50% commission on sales of products between almost $20 and almost $200 per sale?
Often so-called “desperate buyers”.
Just skimming down the areas on the Steve G Jones site, you could sell products to help with ADHD, bed wetting (definitely a big market and one that doesn’t really like to admit to having the issue), chocolate cravings (a niche in the weight loss market), fears and phobias, divorce (split into products for adults and children), cancer, relationships, migraines, panic attacks, and many more.
Not to mention improving yourself at things like poker, tennis, overcoming writer’s block and stacks more.
So if you’re stuck for niche ideas, you could skim that site and get enough ideas to keep you going for the forseeable future. All with multiple products to sell.
There’s 14 on there aimed at just my star sign alone (Libra).
Big markets are everywhere.
Often hiding in plain sight.
You wouldn’t need to dig very far down into the Steve G Jones site to find areas that had lots of demand and little competition.
I’ve not researched it but my guess is the area of how children handle divorce is under-served.
Plus there’s also a product he’s done on dealing with new people in your life – a different twist on the same subject.
Keep your eyes open for big markets.
They almost always have areas that are under-served.
And they’re not necessarily just in the internet marketing arena!
